The Spanish Air Force Parachute Acrobatic Patrol (PAPEA) was created in 1956, becoming one of the oldest parachute patrols in Europe. Based at the Alcantarilla Parachute School (EDA) in Murcia, PAPEA is composed of elite military parachutists who perform acrobatic displays at national and international events.

PAPEA members are highly qualified parachutists who perform freefall formations, precision jumps, and acrobatic maneuvers under canopy. Their displays include formations of up to 8 parachutists in freefall, precision landings on targets just a few meters away, and spectacular descents with flags and colored smoke.
