During the Vietnam War, US Navy, USAF, and Marine pilots flew over 5,000 missions in Phantoms, shooting down 107 enemy aircraft.

Service in Spain - Ala 12

The Spanish Air Force operated the RF-4C Phantom II from 1978 to 2002 at Ala 12 in Torrejón de Ardoz. These photographic reconnaissance Phantoms were fundamental for aerial surveillance and intelligence missions for over two decades, becoming an essential part of Spanish national defense until their replacement by the F/A-18 Hornet.
