History of the CH-47 Chinook in FAMET

The Boeing CH-47 Chinook is the heavy transport helicopter par excellence of the Spanish Army Airmobile Forces (FAMET). With its characteristic tandem rotor configuration, the Chinook can transport up to 55 soldiers or loads of more than 10 tons.

FAMET has operated the Chinook since 1973, accumulating more than 50 years of uninterrupted service. This helicopter has participated in numerous national and international missions, from humanitarian operations to combat missions in Afghanistan and Mali.
