HISTORY AND CONTEXT

The CASA C-101 Aviojet is a jet training aircraft designed and manufactured in Spain in the 1970s. Since its entry into service in 1980, the C-101 has been the main basic and advanced training aircraft at the General Air Academy (AGA) in San Javier, Murcia, training generations of Spanish military pilots.

In addition to its role as a trainer, the C-101 is world-renowned for being the platform of the Patrulla Águila, the official aerobatic team of the Spanish Air Force since 1985. With its distinctive red and yellow livery, the Patrulla Águila has represented Spain in hundreds of international exhibitions, becoming a symbol of excellence and precision.
